For travel to Scotland you do not need a visa. You must have a valid passport with an expiry date of no less than 6 months from your date of entry if travelling from abroad.
You will need your full motor cycle driving licence and valid passport if travelling from abroad, personal and vehicle insurance documents, your motoring association or equivalent breakdown numbers.
If traveling from abroad you must give your insurance company a call to tell them of your destination(s) and duration of stay. Your insurance company will issue a green card or amend your insurance policy to provide cover if necessary.
This will depend on your booking. Our tours are optional supported by an escorting vehicle.
You must ensure that you have sufficient insurance cover to have you and your motorcycle repatriated to your country of residence should you be unable to ride at all due to illness.
We do not necessary ride in a convoy, rather in small groups with each group establishing their own pace and style of riding. You may ride alone, in a group, or decide to ride with the guide.
Experience in touring abroad is not required. Your guide will ensure that you are given the correct advice and care. It is essential that you are comfortable riding your motorbike and that you ride your own style and pace. We will take care of the rest.
Distances will vary from day to day and the terrain and weather is factored in our route selection. We will cover between 150 and 250 kilometres a day.
All our accommodations are selected with bike security in mind. We do however recommend that you bring your disc locks or security chains.
It is advisable that you bring your bike’s tool kit. We recommend that you bring spares such as bulbs, fuses, tube and puncture repair kit etc. There will be additional bike specific tools if you decide to book the escort car. see Booking Form
AA oder RAC will provide emergency breakdown and recovery in Scotland. It is therefore essential that you obtain the cover prior to starting the tour. The client is responsible for all recovery/ repair and associated costs incurred including accommodation, meals, telephone charges, etc. if they do not have AA or RAC cover.
You should be familiar with your fuel tank range. Each day we will provide you with details on the distances to the filling stations. N.B. It is not necessary to carry additional fuel cans/ jerry cans on your bike if it covers at least 200 km. (booking the escort car might then be a smart option)
Money is easily obtained at most ATM machines, banks or currency exchange offices.
All our accommodations we have selected are clean, comfortable, have secure bike areas, and serve good food. We use small traditional highland hotels, and guesthouses.
We have Booking_conditions, which we provide with all bookings. Your deposit secures a space on the tour and is non-refundable. You might better get covered for cancelation.
We will use our best endeavors to ensure that there are no cancellations but reserve the right to cancel the tour should the minimum number of person stipulated within the Tour Details not be met. In this case all monies will be refunded minus a small administration charge. Please refer to our Booking conditions for full details.
All eligible payments are held in trust in accordance with the EU package holiday directive.
We cannot be responsible for any unforeseen delays in flights or ferry crossings. In the event of a delay you will be responsible for providing your own meals and accommodations until you catch up with the tour.
It is a condition of our holidays that you have full travel insurance including medical insurance, repatriation, and cancellation cover, including recovery for your motorcycle.
Our prices are based on double or twin occupancy. If you require a single room you will be charged a single supplement regardless of when you book. However due to some of the remote areas visited, single rooms are limited and therefore subject to availability. Single room supplement when available is € 30/ £ 20 per night.
